Mnt. Sherman
It has been winter throughout the beginning of this semester. To be honest, you can’t do much when it is snowing consistently through the weekend. Which, this weekend we went and hung out with some friends and then had a birthday party to go to. Not too much to report there. I’m thoroughly bored with winter by now. So, what can you do when you are an online student and finish all your classes early? Well, You can go hike these things to the left of this paragraph. What are those? 14ners!! This one is Mnt. Sherman. It’s the easiest 14ner to do in Colorado. Well, it is still a 14,010 foot mountain to climb but it is really pretty. This is the back side of it. My husband and I were climbing around in old cabins in the pioneer stages, and there was a cave on the backside of the mountain that we explored. What else can you do?

Disney Land

Spelunking
Well, you can go on a lot of trips. The picture farthest to the left is in Mnt. Rushmore, you can see the faces behind us. The center one is in California with Disney Land. The last one is a picture of when we went to Carlsbad Caverns and did some cave exploring. The one we did in this picture was called Spider Cave. We are covered in mud at the moment.
Overall, you can take a lot of trips when you are doing online classes. Everyone waits until school is done in order to travel but why wait?! We also went on our honeymoon to Florida and I didn’t stress about my classes about to begin, because I had the internet! My main thing now is that I have a family and I have to pull in an income. You know about that situation don’t you?? It is an awesome feeling to go into work and know I get to go home sit down and relax, while doing my school work. It takes off a lot of stress! So, before I go… I will post another picture of the beautiful mountains that are freezing cold right now and calling my name, but I would rather stay indoors working on homework.

That title pretty much sums it up. I did my new job in the morning and my old job in the evening, with homework through the night. On Wednesday I saw my mom, who was sick, and I accidentally came into close proximity of her. So, I’m sick now. I’ve been laying here on my couch feeling kind of crummy right now. Pretty grumpy. I can’t even imagine being in a campus setting with all the germs around.
If you don’t know that I’m a cancer survivor, now you do! It’s been 7 months since my last chemo treatment, and I still don’t think my immune system has caught up yet. This was me going into surgery to have the tumor removed… The really cool thing???
I had surgery the day UCD started up classes. (in Spring semester of 2009)
Hence the reason why I picked online classes. So, after that brief catch up for you readers we can go back to this week. Which I have not done anything but slave away! Nothing better than a typical college student who gets sick and has a pile of tissues on the ground with a bottle of Ziacam, Robitussin, and for the end of the day- Nigh Quil.
At any rate! Happy Valentine’s Day!!! Wooo! What are you going to do? Have a great night out with your significant other? Make breakfast in bed for a loved one? Buy her the typical roses and chocolates? Whatever you do, I hope the day goes well even if you meet up with a bunch of your friends and swear off Valentine’s day for the rest of your life! It can still be a fun day even when you make fun it! I think my husband and I will sleep in, go get some coffee, go see a movie, and then come home and watch some Olympics. Sweet!
Well, this is it for right now. Sorry I am making it short today. I will be sure to tell you when I’m all better from this head, throat, and chest congestion! At least I won’t fall behind in homework!

I was thinking this whole week, “hmmmm, what can I take pictures of to show these lovely people who read my blog what I do allllll week?!” Well, I can tell you that it falls very short of spectacular. What have I done? I have done the following:
1) Bought a very nice oak table with pretty oak chairs to go along with it at a clearance center. (because we are college students who are broke…)

table and chairs
2) Bought a new mattress and box spring which is a plush top. FYI- sleeping on a 30 year old mattress that is a double when you are just married, is awful. Forgive me if I leave out the pictures of the bed…
3) I play the Wii in my spare time. It’s a good way to take a break from homework. Thus, I broke a new record in bowling!! See, here is my proof.

Record
4) I just got a new job. It’s been a lot of interviews and such, along with colds, severe headaches and pain, but all in all the new job will be awesome! I could take a picture of the stack of paperwork that needs to filled out…I’ll spare you.
5) I spend a lot of time with my new husband. (well as much as possible.)

DisneyWorld
That was us at Disney World for our honeymoon. Yes, you can easily travel and have fun while taking classes. No problem!
6) I do a lot of homework… at home, on my couch, wrapped in blankets, reading on my own time. Classes have never been so relaxing before. Here I am on the couch with my history book…..

Doing Homework
I bet you are wondering why the heck I am not doing more spectacular things. Well folks I work full-time and I am a full-time college student. Do you think you would have a lot of time? Nope. It’s also freezing cold outside right now and I would prefer not to hike 14ners in this season because, well, you would get frostbite and/or blown off the mountain due to unpredictable storms. Probably in the spring will you see more rock climbing, hiking, biking, and other fun activities pictures. Basically, what it boils down to is that: I am a normal college student, who is just like you, who makes a living, while trying to get everything else down as well. For me online classes with my pretty green laptop is how I get it all done.
So with more visuals to come, I will continue to take pictures of probably me chilling out at Starbucks or going shopping at Walmart at the time when most students are in class. I am doing a few more trips this semester, so I’ll definitely bring more pictures of those back for you to see.
Hope you are doing well! Cheers!
