Love All?

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

or to love none? Planning weddings could possibly be the hardest thing to do while focusing on school and work. As a college student, you are stressed out of your mind to “get those finals done.” Then you have other things to think about!!!! Such as menus, programs, final dress fit, health insurance, and oh yeah… almost forgot!!! writing the vows and actually showing up to the wedding.

Don’t get me wrong!!! I absolutely love my fiancee and I want to get married to him. However, I’m not at all in love with my wedding. I think it’s chaotic, additional stress, and pretty big. My favorite place to be is in the mountains. It is so peaceful there, so calming, the beauty just takes your breath away. To be in the valley between Grey’s and Torrey’s peaks in a white dress with 20 people, those who were brave enough to venture up to 12,000 ft, would be my dream wedding. Just think! In May or mid-June the flowers would be all around, you could pick your bouquet right there. You would have to put on hiking boots and hike up your dress to walk the mile to be in between the giant mountains. Mountain goats, deer, rabbits, and your few close witnesses would all be in attendance! The reception would be at the picnic tables a mile down, and someone could bring their guitar and violin.

Planning a wedding tests the love you have for some people. All in all, it’s a wedding and it’ll be great and everyone will love one another. But just think if I told you that I got married in between Grey’s and Torrey’s the two beautiful and majestic 14ners in Colorado. That would have been fabulous.

Anyway! I’m dreaming away about weddings. Every night there seems to be a new dream about something going on at the wedding. All is going well though! Finals are over! I passed with flying colors. Just wait till you get to see the pictures!

I have just signed up for 4 more online courses. I expect to pass those with good grades as well. After that! We are in the home stretch for graduating!!

Flowers? Programs? RSVPs?

Sunday, December 6th, 2009

Who has time to figure out the details of a wedding when taking a timed final online? Multi-tasking is one of the many talents that you must have in order to get through college. I’ve gotten good at that over the years. Between picking out the flowers for the wedding, talking to the pastor, getting in the RSVPs, final fitting for the dress, getting presents done, taking care of health insurance, dealing with car problems…. I still have time to sit down and figure out the finals. Phew! Three finals are done and I have one more final to go. I’m whipping out the video camera one last time to show you all the wedding plans coming together. Jo&Ryan

Awwww, here we are. Aren’t we cute? This was actually taken before the engagement, even though we knew that we were getting married. It was taken before the diagnosis of cancer as well, you can tell because I have hair. haha!

The colors here are green and white, obviously. Our wedding colors are white, black, and royal blue. It’s in 3 weeks. I will probably be in panic mode the closer it gets…

Lucky for me I had online classes to take, but do not be deceived you still need to put a lot of work into the classes. More so than the normal classes? Well, I just had that discussion with you. It’s a give and take situation.

I have a lot of blue roses, white lilies, white roses, and lots of spray in the flowers. My jewelry is diamonds and pearls. Don’t ask about the programs please, I’m not done. I had three finals to do this weekend.

So, are you liking the snow? I’m not very fond of the negative degree weather. The warmth is stolen from my body in a half of a second from going outside. I try to stay indoors, workout indoors, and do my shopping from my computer. I would like to go skiing, but who has time for that?! I need a long drive to relieve some of this stress that is bunching up. I thought it would decrease as soon as finals were over, but then the next big thing came up and OOPS! It’s wedding time! :)

I can’t wait till school is done and I’m graduated! (Alas, that will not be for some time since I want a Masters degree and a certificate for teaching.) Just remember, when you are this stressed, you need to focus on some things that you really love doing and make you forget about everything else. For me that is: writing, reading, painting, and working out.

I tried this new work out, it’s Zumba. Yeah, it’s been around but it’s new to me. I love it!!! Absolutely love it!!! If you like dancing and want to get a hard work out that’s fun, try Zumba. It’s great.

Well, that’s all for me!!! My mind is wandering to fast with things to do. So, I must be off. You shall hear from me soon!
