The recent news of Obama’s reform on health care has my undivided attention. I have been following it for the past week or so… I’m not too sure what the consensus will be in the House but I guess we will see sooner or later.
It’s one of the bigger things that comes up when you have a pre-existing condition by the age of 20. What will you do for health care? You have 3 years left on the parents and then what? Oh well.
So, as promised, what is harder online or in the classroom? Well, in my opinion, I believe that online has a lot more homework than the classroom. How else is the teacher supposed to know that you are learning? You have to be self-motivated and driven. If you have no self-discipline then online will be harder for you. Not impossible, of course. You’ll just have to learn how to do the work in the proper time.
With classes, you have to be on the schedule of the teacher, you have to listen to them, and pay for parking. You may think that this isn’t as bad but when you have to work in order to get through college, then it’s a huge deal on going to the campus.
To me the online classes may be slightly harder, but it is well worth the effort. (which you only have to exert a little bit more than normal.)
So if you had any questions on that topic…then hopefully I have helped you in making a more educated choice on which classes to take. Overall, I would say online classes rock!
My midterms are hitting next week and boy, am I ready? Probably not as much as I should be. I mean, come on, which student studies 1 or 2 weeks in advanced? Very few. My fiancee and I were working on wedding invitations this weekend and talking about how excited we were for Thanksgiving. Why? It means the semester is almost done!! Wooo! We are so happy to be making it through this semester. It’s the last one before the wedding. (We’ve been engaged for a year as of September 19th…) So woooo!

And thinking…
My fiancee and I are on the search for a futon and new queen size mattress. Since I got on the futon search so late, we are now going around practically every day to find one in time for the company that is coming in… great.
In other news, we did the Denver Diamond Dash. Alas, we did not win or else this post would have been a lot sooner. It was a lot of fun. I was thinking of taking along the nifty little video camera. However, the idea of frantically racing on a bike around Denver, following clues, in the rain, while holding a tiny video camera…did not sound too appealing. So, all I can tell you is that it was a ton of fun. If it goes on again next year, I would recommend that you go. The clues were great to figure out and it was probably 2 or 3 hours of straight biking the city of Denver. Fantastic! I did take a few pictures (when I had the brief moments of waiting for the next clue) so I will probably post them up later.
Headed out to the world of American Culture… Did you know that the movie New Moon is coming out in November? Yeah, about a month and a half away. Now, I’m not a fanatic. Nor do I drool over Rob Pattinson and I personally think Kristen Stewart is one terrible actress. I’m not joking. Twilight was a downfall and she personally dragged it down herself. The books are a different story, that is some great creative writing. Anyway, the thing about New Moon is that the tickets are on sale now. NOW! Yeesh, it’s a month and a half out. Did I mention that already?
However, I’m a sucker for movies. I will probably go out and buy a pair to see the movie on opening night. For all of you who may have class bright and early that morning and will miss the movie because of it, I’m sorry. I get to sleep in.
So here we are, getting closer and closer to the wedding. (not Bella and Edward’s wedding….my personal wedding.) We are getting everything done in sort of a proper time, while tackling gigantic papers along the way. My word! I had two difficult, and long, papers due in one week. Don’t professors talk to one another? The conversation should go like, “I’m scheduling my students to have one week to complete a 10 page paper by September 20th.” The next professor would go, “Oh! I was going to do the same thing! Good thing you told me… I’ll change my date.”
That would be brilliant and a lot less stress. Of course, we have a lot of people with so many professors but I’ll continue to live in my dream world….
Otherwise than all of that stuff, I feel the need to say congratulations! You have made it through a quarter of the school semester! Here comes the midterms. I hope you have been keeping up on those readings! (if not, I would highly suggest a review.) Hey, I can’t blame you for not wanting to sit down for 4 hours straight each day and just read chapters upon chapters. I know what it is like.
That’s all for today! I believe my next post will be on the heated debate if online courses or in class courses are easier. It’s a high probablity that I’ll be writing on that. Otherwise than that… wish me luck in my hunt for a futon and new bed!

Alright, I could keep updating you about my life but that can get kind of boring. I like reading things that actually make you think. Hence why I will be talking to you about this issue: the news and why they post web articles with people’s names in them. Sounds like a stupid topic right? Well, let’s say you had cancer, diabetes, or some other disease that plagued your life. Not fun. So one day your doing something great and fabulous when a reporter comes up to you, takes your name, your information, and your story. They go away, type up the article, and publish it. Now every single employer that you apply to can google your name and that article will be blaring out your name and the disease that you have. Think that employer will want to hire you? Probably not.
The argument here is that you gave the reporter your name and information…so that’s giving an “ok” to go ahead and publish it. Really? Did you say to go ahead? Did you sign a waiver? Nope. They went right ahead and published what should have been private.
Is this ok to do? Well if you think that when a lady orders a steaming hot cup of coffee and spills it on herself by her own doing, and then turns around and sues the company and wins…. What do you think the courts would say about publishing information about people’s personal lives in their articles?
So, there is some food for thought for you. An interesting topic that I was thinking on today.
As far as classes go, I’m doing alright. Still silently screaming away from all the stress that has been piling up. However, we did take some time to explore. Here is an old building we walked to and explored around in.
We also climbed around in a cave, hiked up partial way of a 14ner named Mt. Sherman, and had a blast later on that night with friends. Life was good this past weekend!
